Abstract :
Laser diode arrays (LDA) can generate coherent light beams of high power. Unfortunately, the output beam is of a poor quality, which cannot be collimated properly by conventional diode laser optics. The authors present a method for beam shaping of LDA using holographic optical elements, which produces a nearly symmetric single lobed beam of collimated light with maximum conversion efficiency
