Abstract
Describes the application of neural network technology in the problem domain of tactical and sensor data fusion. The authors introduce and review the problems presented by data fusion and the modern naval environment is used as an example application domain. The tasks of target identification and task identification are highlighted as suitable areas for the application of neural network technology. A description is given of how a prototype target identification and target task identification system, based on integrated neural network technology, has been constructed using the Aberdeen Neural Development System. A description of the current system, Aberdeen Neural Tracking System (ANTS), is given
