Abstract :
The recent progress in THz optoelectronic technology was reviewed. Emission and detection in semiconductors and in high-Tc superconductors, as well as applications, were discussed. The THz pulse is useful because it produces broadband coherent emission and enables detection with a better signal-to-noise ratio than the traditional technique as well as observation of ultrafast time domain behavior.
