  • Abstract
The transient behaviour of drive systems is investigated by means of simulation models and experimental work. The simulation models are very versatile and cater for a large number of operating modes. Various effects, both linear and nonlinear, are considered during the development of the simulation models. Various measuring systems are developed to measure the mechanical system variables and the effectiveness of these systems is illustrated. As illustrated there is good correlation between simulation and experimental results, providing a useful tool in the design of drive systems operating under dynamic conditions. Further work is at present in progress, aimed mainly at the improvement of the measuring systems as well as the investigating of other transient regimes in drive systems
