Abstract :
In this paper, a robust power system stabilizer (PSS) is designed based on a nonlinear generator model and a simplified exciter/AVR model. The Lyapunov direct method is applied in the design which insures the global stability of the power system under the proposed PSS. The feedback signals applied for the proposed PSS are local. Simulation results are presented which show that the proposed PSS is very effective to damp the prolonged oscillation and the robustness of the PSS
