Abstract :
The author describes software structuring for the SW part of computer-based systems (CBS) which is oriented at the evolution of these systems. Traditional SW development methods such as SA/SD, SDL and OO methods are oriented at the logic of the SW functionality itself. They fall short in supporting a minimal development effort. They define SW features to be the counterparts of features of the CBS itself. They are oriented at extensions or changes which are made to the CBS. The software is structured in components such that feature extension is realized by additional SW components only
