Abstract :
In this paper a novel method for decreasing the noise-figure of a quasi-optical amplifier system is presented. The employed technique is explained and the technological advantages and disadvantages with respect to applications for MM-waves are evaluated. Finally, experimental results in the X-band are presented and conclusions for higher frequencies are drawn.
