Abstract
This paper investigates the luminous flicker phenomenon in fluorescent lamps in the presence of inter or subharmonics affecting the voltage supply. A new analytical, as well as, numerical model is proposed to describe the relationship between luminous flux and voltage interharmonics, stating from the modulation mechanism of the voltage drop on the fluorescent tube. Experimental tests were carried out and the results support the validity of the model
