Abstract
We report polarization-sensitive solar-blind metal-semiconductor-metal UV photodetectors based on (112̅0) a-plane AlGaN. The epilayer shows anisotropic optical properties confirmed by polarization-resolved transmission and photocurrent measurements, in good agreement with band structure calculations.
