Abstract :
Chromatic dispersion measurements on 66 fiber-paths installed in the field confirm that the zero dispersion wavelength of installed single-mode fibers can be predicted from factory production data on fibers made at the same time as the installed cables. The average zero dispersion wavelength of the installed fiber-paths differed by less than 0.1 nm from the factory predicted value
