Abstract
A new algorithm using the discrete fractal Brownian motion to classify fingerprint images is presented. It computes certain fractal parameters in a sub-fingerprint image and performs a mask-based classification. Experimental results demonstrate that this method provides a classification scheme that performs well and is more noise resistant than the traditional schemes
