Abstract :
The paper starts with an introduction to the problems of ESM (electronic support measures) processing, which exemplifies the problems of real time data interpretation. The features of the approach followed by an operator to this task are then examined, and the implications of the necessity for a real-time solution discussed. The software architecture used to reflect these features is described, and the tools used to implement the software commented upon. The paper then presents the results of an assessment of the software performance, comments briefly on the implementation path now being followed, and draws some overall conclusions
