Abstract :
Routing in MANET can consume significant amount of power. However, mobile nodes have limited power. Continuous drainage of current can degrade battery performance. Also, if a battery is allowed to intermittently take rest, it recovers some of its lost charge due to charge recovery effect and results in prolonged battery life. In this paper, we propose a novel power and battery aware routing protocol, which not only incorporates the effect of power consumption in routing a packet but also exploits the charge recovery effect.
