Title :
A dominant carrier SCPC system for rural information services
Author_Institution :
Nairobi Univ., Kenya
Abstract :
Narrowband broadcast-type audio-visual public services are defined. These services are distributed to rural communities using a proposed dominant carrier among SCPC/FDMA carriers available in existing INTELSAT satellite systems. The dominant carrier enables the use of low-cost receive-only earth stations at the sacrifice of transponder capacity and increased intermodulation distortion
