Abstract :
Summary form only given. The use of self pulsating (SP) and HF self-oscillating mechanisms in LDs for all-optical regeneration of optical FSK signals have been proposed as a means of realizing transparent FSK system. Simulation results show that the requirements of the high speed photodetector and high-frequency electronics of the receiver are relaxed by these schemes, since they enable envelope detection to be used for data recovery
