Abstract :
Zero-IF receivers eliminate the need for costly RF and IF filters and significantly decrease the cost of a receiver. Like IF receivers, direct conversion receivers experience frequency offsets in the down conversion process. This paper proposes a carrier frequency offset recovery algorithm for use with zero-IF OFDM receivers. The algorithm recovers the offset from data modulated carriers without relying on redundant data such as pilots carriers, null carriers, or training sequences. A phase equivalent model for the algorithm is presented, and simulations are employed to verify the concept
