Abstract :
A new antenna with capabilities of beam steering for indoor communications is proposed. This design is based on the principle of a microstrip Yagi array. Front-to-back (F/B) ratios between 8-12 dB can be achieved which is crucial for rejecting signals in unintended directions. The structure is designed on a simple two-metal, single-dielectric layer board which is very suitable for industrial use. By using four switching elements, this antenna can cover an azimuth of 360deg.
