Recognition of line-drawings based on generalised Fourier descriptors

An experimental recognition system for line-drawings using generalised Fourier descriptors (GFDs) is developed. Based on the cumulative angular function of line-drawings, GFDs of polygonal curves (both open and closed) are derived. The recognition of line-drawings is performed by considering character recognition which is based on a comparison of GFDs between unknown patterns and reference patterns.
