Abstract
This paper present the ability for this scatter to maintain a consistent level for various frequencies and shows the real potential to sufficiently support an HFSWR operating within forward-bistatic orientations in regard to ship RCS returns. While results have not been tested beyond the 20 MHz range however it is expected that this trend will likely extend across the full HF spectrum. Future work will continue using numerical simulations to dissect the observed forward scattering phenomenon with respect to target size and radar frequency in an attempt to confirm the primary theory. Additionally a relationship with respect to ship targets using either volumetric or physical dimensions will be sought as means to define the range where forward scattering is advantageous.
