Planning and design studies for the far North Queensland Georgetown and Normanton AC transmission scheme

In Australia remote areas of Far North Queensland have relied for many years on small local diesel powered stations for electricity supply. This is about to change with the commencement of construction by the Far North Queensland Electricity Board (FNQEB) of a transmission line and substations to this region. Work is planned to be completed by mid 1992 . The authors describe planning studies for this project from early feasibility studies in 1984 to the detailed design which is about to be completed
