Abstract :
A branch line hybrid coupler, which has arbitrarily unequal power splitting ratio and port impedances, is proposed. As an example, the design steps and related theory for a 1:2 power dividing hybrid coupler at 2.3 GHz is described. Also the measured data are presented with a good agreement with prediction. The remarkable advantage of the proposed hybrid allows one to design planar power dividers with very high unequal dividing ratios.
