Abstract
The authors look at the prediction of single-phase AC commutator motor performance. The technique adopted is that of a set of mutually coupled windings. The differential equations defining the current in the machine are solved numerically by Runge Kutta techniques. All the data required for the prediction of the performance is calculated from basic machine dimensions or is obtained from simple measurements performed on sample brushes
