Abstract :
We propose a beyond 3G and new generation mobile communication system that can realize beyond 100 Mbps carrier bit rate and can access IP networks easily. The new system is based on the packet-reservation-based protocol, packet reservation dynamic time-slotted multiple access (PR-DSMA). We have already developed an evaluation prototype, investigated its transmission throughput and performed a feasibility study. The carrier bit rate of the prototype was 155.52 Mbps and the maximum data throughput on TCP/IP layer was almost 80 Mbps. Moreover, we have developed a new broader prototype by arranging several prototyping boards including the PR-DSMA protocol in parallel, and the carrier bit rate of the prototype is 622 Mbps. We introduce the proposed protocol and the configuration of the newly developed prototype.
