Abstract
A control scheme for a prototype brushless DC motor is developed and a simulation study of the motor, inverter and controller is carried out to allow correct controller parameters to be selected. The simulation of the three phase system is carried out using TurboBASIC on a PC-compatible computer, and is extended to include simulation of the sliding mode controller
