Abstract
A wideband antenna for 2.4/5 GHz WLAN applications was designed and implemented. In order to enhance the operation bandwidth of the proposed antenna, probe feeding and air gap (capacitive gap) were used. The air gap was composed of a rectangular shape near the feed point. And the corner truncation is used for impedance matching. The simulation results on impedance bandwidth (VSWR < 2.5) were about 10.8% ranging from 2.37 GHz to 2.64 GHz and about 18.5% ranging from 5.05GHz to 6.08 GHz. Measured maximum gains were approximately 8.97 dBi, 8.41 dBi for 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz band, respectively.
