Abstract
The combination of the two approaches (frame repetition and temporal averaging) by a separated highs and lows processing scheme can take advantage of each approach´s positive elements as shown. After a brief discussion of linear upconversion techniques a modified technique using separated spatial highs and lows processing is presented. The different motion estimation tolerance properties of two interpolation procedure are evaluated The improved algorithm is also presented
