Abstract
The author claims that graphs have given more insight into the characterisation of linear circuits than anything else. He refers not to the more conventional use of the term `graph´, but to its use in a topological context. Thus in the graph of a simple circuit components are replaced by `edges´ or `branches´ to which are appended the component admittances
