Abstract :
Over the last decade, the food industry has undergone many changes-manufacturing plants have become larger and these large volume plants are now facing the problem of producing a wider mix of products in many different styles of packaging. This pattern of change has resulted in fewer major developments but many extensions or modifications to existing facilities, most of these requiring new plant and the associated controls to be added with a minimum of downtime to existing factory operations
