Abstract :
A novel method that evaluates the color uniformity grade of electronic displays using a mura (non-uniform region) index E is presented. The visual perceptual filter is newly defined by using the color contrast sensitivity function. The non-uniform images captured by a color camera are converted into CIELAB images. The images are transformed into frequency domains, and filtered by the newly defined visual perceptual filter. The experimental results showed strong relations between human sensory evaluation scores and the mura index E values.
