  • Abstract
    Two diode-pumped Nd3+-doped fibre lasers have been developed, operating at 935 nm and 1092 nm. These have been used successfully in the laser cooling of Yb+ and Sr+. Linewidths of ~100 MHz and ~300 MHz have been achieved respectively on the cooling transition of the two ion species
