Abstract :
On this study we developed a mathematical model that would be able to simulate the dynamics of the hippocampal complex and, also, sustaining our hypothesis regarding the generation of the called "Place Fields". It has been described that "Place Fields" would be dependent of egocentric and allocentric coordinates and signals. The electrophysiological parameter is the generation, on the hippocampus, of theta and/or theta/gamma frequency. Although some authors argue that exist a dependency of visual cues for spike generation by the called "Place Cells", there is a general agreement that animals need to be attentive and exploring the environment during the formation of Place Fields. So, we seek to build a network that, simulating the morph functional pattern of the hippocampus, would be able to work as one place field of CA3 region (although for what we propose it could be of CA1 or even other region able to work this way), being the attentive behavior considered the second principal parameter. Our results are compatible with experimental data of the dynamics of "place Fields". Together, our hypothesis agrees with this model and, also, sustains the whole functions attributed to hippocampus if we consider "Place Fields" as primarily "Firing Fields".
