Abstract :
Planar versions of soft surfaces are easy to manufacture and have potential applications as a consequence of its versatility. In this work, some examples of how to design and employ them in problems related to patch antennas have been presented. The modest number of structure periods than can be used due to space constrains affects the structure performance, but still the achieved improvements are meaningful. Mutual coupling and back radiation can be reduced some dBs by using only two periods of the structure.
