Abstract :
It is shown that use of the inherent multipath diversity of the received signal an improve the bit error rate performance greatly in the digital RAKE receiver. The key to good performance is in the quality of the channel´s impulse response estimation, dependent on tracking filter response. The receiver benefits from relatively low complexity and can track fading at mobile radio channel rates
