  • Abstract
    In recent years, network coding has been introduced at physical layer to increase network capacity of wireless mesh networks (WMN). In this paper, to support reliable packet relaying in WMN employing network coding, we propose an efficient retransmission scheme. The proposed scheme is efficient since it exploits the property of network coded packet header instead of using conventional schemes based on transmission of acknowledgement (ACK/NAK) packets as shown by analytic results. Benefit of the proposed scheme is furthermore verified in a one dimensional (1D) MIMO two-way relay network employing network coding. Numerical result shows that our proposed scheme can significantly improve end-to-end packet delivery ratio in the presence of lossy wireless links.
