Abstract
This paper describes work carried out on the application of knowledge based techniques to subsea acoustic data interpretation. A simple knowledge based system for seismic interpretation is presented that is shown to form a suitable framework for a more general aid to the subsea survey industry. The work involves the integration of knowledge based techniques, acoustic signal processing algorithms, operator interface and image interpretation. The extensions to this system to enable it to be of more general use are detailed
