Abstract :
This paper presents a novel design of an UWB printed monopole antenna. It is based on an elliptical-shaped monopole antenna with slots along the edges. Assuming a substrate with dielectric constant of 2.2, the proposed antenna features a small size of 14 mm times 19.6 mm (the size of the radiating element). It exhibits less than -10 dB return loss from 3.4 GHz to 10 GHz, which has been verified by both simulations and measurements.
