Abstract :
In this paper, a 3D compact profile multi-band antenna is presented. The antenna can be able to operate GSM 850 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 1900 MHz and UMTS 2200 MHz bands for the wideband wireless mobile device application. This paper examines techniques such as adding extra resonant patch to achieve wider BW and further size reduction by bending the antenna from 2D to 3D dimensions. The behavior of pent-band antenna, mounted on the FR4 substrate with the 55 mm times 90 mm GND is also examined. Prototypes of a pent-band antenna is designed and tested. Finally the results of pent- band miniaturized antenna is presented.
