Abstract
The application of the transmission-line method to two-dimensional field problems is described. The effect on accuracy and computation time of the space discretisation length is studied, together with typical results for the effective dielectric constant and surge impedance. The influence and treatment of open field boundaries are also discussed and typical results are given. A brief survey of the application of TLM to microwave field problems by other researchers is also presented. Finally, current work on the application of the new three-dimensional TLM node to general propagation problems is described
