Abstract
The authors have studied fabrication methods for appropriate electrostatic transducers for such applications as non-contact gauging, workspace imaging and autonomous guided vehicle (AGV) navigation. The following topics are discussed: transducer development; single axis rangefinding; phased array systems for vehicle guidance; phased array systems for workspace imaging; adaptive beamforming; and transmission line matrix modelling of acoustic propagation
