Abstract :
A novel band rejected planar ultra wideband antenna is presented in this paper. To achieve dual band-notched characteristic, two slots are used on the antenna surface. The proposed antenna shows high rejection levels at adjustable notch frequencies. Moreover, the transmission/reception performance of the antenna is investigated carefully. By performing two simulation setups, it is observed that the obtained transfer function drops considerably at the notch frequencies rang and as a result, the antenna may not interfere with near local networks at those frequencies. Meanwhile the antenna shows a good performance at other frequencies. Demonstrating the reasonable performance, the proposed antenna is applicable for ultra wideband systems located close to the WLANs or GPS systems.
