Abstract :
Novel compact frequency-agile multi-band monopole antennas have been presented, realized and evaluated. A very simple and effective switching method for monopole is introduced. This switching principle is validated by measurements. Compact size and achievable performance make these antennas attractive for mobile handset applications. Both presented antennas are capable to switch between two low-bands (GSM850 and GSM900). 1cc antenna can cover GSM850, GSM900, DCS, and PCS, while larger, 1.6 cc antenna, covers in addition to those also WCDMA band.
