Abstract
In the mid 1970s, large scale integrated circuits (LSI) and microprocessors started to be used for control of automotive vehicle functions which had previously been performed by purely mechanical means. The author examines the various automotive digital control systems which can be affected by EMI and describes just how such systems are affected. EMC methods for the solution of these interference problems are also detailed
