Abstract
Laminar magnetics ease construction and eliminate creepage and clearance problems. However, these advantages are offset by power dissipation caused by the high frequency which they use. The author looks at the cause of winding loss within a magnetically poor planar transformer. Using laminar magnetics it is possible to minimise power dissipation so enabling the many advantages that can be gained from this structure to be used
