Abstract
Due to the advent of power MOSFETs, higher frequency operation to hundreds of kiloHertz has been made possible, and the series resonant topology has been reported to offer smaller size, improved reliability, and reduced electromagnetic interference. Hence high frequency resonant converters have become attractive to power supply designers. The author explains the basic operation of a full bridge, series resonant inverter (SRI) which is capable of delivering in excess of one kiloWatt when used in a DC to DC converter
