Abstract :
Measurements of the radiation from a λ/2-dipole antenna inside a common car was compared to calculations at 1.9 GHz, to establish a principal knowledge of the radiation mechanism related to a vehicle such as a car. Based on this a new simple directional path loss model is proposed, that uses minimal knowledge of the vehicle´s geometry. This model may be well suited for simulations of mobile communication systems when the terminal is placed inside cars or other similar vehicles.
