Abstract :
The details of a pedagogical expert training system which interfaces with such external programs as a database program, a worksheet program, and an ASCII file are described. A modular knowledge base has been developed and implemented in support of this study. The knowledge base consists of two separate components, the database and the rule base. The database is external to the main system, while the rule base resides in the main system as the `controller´ of the operation. The modularized knowledge base offers the user easy and quick maintenance of facts and rules
