Abstract
System Engineers are constantly pushing the Radar state-of-the-art, especially in Slotted Planar Array performance. Antenna specifications are written with lighter, yet larger apertures; lower sidelobes over a wider operating bandwidth are requested. These requirements are desired for the same costs as in the 70´s. To meet these demands, greater use of computer-aided design and manufacturing together with automated testing must be implemented. The following pages discuss the techniques Rantec is implementing to provide cost-effective high-performance antennas similar to those depicted in Figure 1.
