Abstract
The reality of having a personal computer as a personal tool for engineering education is rapidly engulfing the university community. Virginia Tech continues to be the only public state institution requiring that all entering engineering students purchase their own personal computer. It is the intent of this short note to present some features and aspects of this program which began its third year in Fall 1986.
