Abstract
The task coalescence problem which occurs during the development stage of a real-time distributed system is investigated. An algorithm for coalescing task modules, evaluating performance, and searching for the optimal solution is described. A model called MOSMUP (MOno- Synchronisation and MUlti-message Passing) is developed for evaluating coalesced task modules and used in the algorithm. A software tool is constructed to implement the algorithm
