Abstract :
Ultrafast acceleration of free carriers in a strong THz field results in an oscillatory occurrence of midinfrared gain/absorption with the LO phonon frequency. This quantum kinetic phenomenon is studied in nonlinear THz-pump-midinfrared-probe experiments.
